The following documentation are required for your application to be considered.

Current Statements of Attainment in First Aid

Current statement of attainment must meet the following criteria:

- Assessors must satisfy the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessors.

- In addition, assessors for HLTAID001 and HLTAID002 must hold a current HLTAID003 first aid qualification.

All submitted documents must be verified.

Exemptions - The Act exempts a range of people from the WWC Check including teachers registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). This exemption exists because teachers have already had their criminal records rigorously checked by VIT. The exemptions are designed to reduce the administrative burden particularly on voluntary organisations using the WWC Check. Find out more about exemptions here.

Updates to trainer and assessor credential requirements

The revised Standards for RTOs 2015 and this ministerial release have changed the minimum qualifications required of trainers and assessors within the vocational education and training sector from 1 July 2019:

Standard 1.14: Training and assessment must only be delivered by persons who have either:

• TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
• The superseded TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment PLUS unit TAELLN411/TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills PLUS unit TAEASS502/TAEASS502A/TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools; or
• A diploma or higher level qualification in adult education.

Note: If you hold a higher level qualification in adult education you should contact ASQA directly to ensure that your qualification will meet industry standards.

Assessment resources must include:

Adult and infant resuscitation manikins in line with ARC Guidelines for the purpose of assessment of CPR procedures
Adrenaline auto-injector training device
AED training device
Placebo bronchodilator and spacer device
Roller bandages
Triangular bandages
Workplace First Aid kit
Workplace injury, trauma and/or illness record, or other appropriate workplace incident report form for written reports
Wound dressings
