An ice pack or cold compress, wrapped in a damp cloth, should be applied for Ice about 20 minutes every 2 hours for the first 24 hours if possible. Do not apply ice directly to the skin as it may cause a burn.Compress and support the injury with a firm elastic bandage C after the ice pack or cold compress has been removed.
